Yoshimura Tokine Glass Tea Strainer
Designed to extract tea with exceptional clarity and elegance, this beautifully engineered glass strainer uses no paper filters or metal parts—preserving the true aroma, flavor, and astringency of the leaves. Inspired by the quiet rhythm of an hourglass, it allows you to watch the tea slowly steep and fall, transforming tea time into a meditative ritual.
How to Brew Sencha:
- Place the knob on the strainer body and align the ‘·’ marks.
- Add 4–6g of tea leaves into the strainer.
- Pour just enough hot water to cover the leaves. Let steep for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Add approx. 200cc of hot water cooled to 80°C.
- Allow the tea leaves to open for another 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Wait and enjoy the quiet drip of the tea as it begins to extract.
- Move the knob slightly (~1mm) to open a gap and allow the tea to pass through.
- Let all the liquid extract fully to ensure a flavorful second brew.
- When dripping stops, place the unit on the lid (body rest).
- Pour and enjoy your tea.
